Churchill Retirement name its new development on York Road – Tatterton Lodge
A new living development for retired people in Wetherby has been named in memory of a community hero and former resident. The Churchill Retirement Living development on York Road has been called Tatterton Lodge in honour of John Tatterton BEM who died last November. Born in Wetherby, Mr Tatterton served as the town police officer for 30 years before retiring to become the local handyman and volunteering in a number of community roles for another 15 years. The new Lodge name was suggested by winner Mrs Harris as part of a competition run by Churchill Retirement Living to name its new development. WELL DONE TO WETHERBY BUSINESSES Earlier this month inspirational individuals and businesses came together to celebrate achievement in Yorkshire at the first Yorkshire Choice Awards, all to raise money for Martin House Children’s Hospice. The sensational Christa Ackroyd hosted an evening to remember, and what a night, with Wetherby coming up trumps in a few categories! This is a people’s choice award and voters were only allowed one vote per IP address. Our first Networking event was a huge success last night. Michelle Oliver, from Blu Hair and Pink Beauty, gave an inspiring insight into her business , leaving everyone with ideas on how to improve their own businesses.
