It has been through a number of changes over the years from being the High School to its’ current incarnation as an Ofsted recognised “Outstanding” Primary school. We can’t let this occasion pass us by without recognising and celebrating the school’s contribution to the people of Wetherby for the last century. Meeting 29th February As you may know, Wetherby Arts Festival has been a successful feature of Wetherby life for many years and has just completed a very successful year – both in terms of the 2015 Festival itself, and financially Unfortunately, like many organisations, it has suffered from the workload falling on an ageing Committee. At the AGM two weeks ago, most of the current Committee retired and we were unable to recruit enough new members to keep running the Festival viable. Since then we have been exploring ways in which we could recruit more participants and widen the input to the planning of the Festival. Thank you to all those members who supported the call to arms for the WBA last night. The ASGM was successful, and we are now moving forward,with a full complement of officers and two new directors. Alan Beardmore, A1 Insurance, who was the Treasurer, was elected as Chairman Denise Podlewska, AJ Promotions, re-elected as Vice Chair Kate Robinson, from Hartlaw, re-elected as Secretary Jonathan Crossley, Brays Accountants, elected as Treasurer New directors are Nish Kanabar, Castlegate Stationery, and Julie Gray, Kool Kidz Uniforms Other offers to canvas shops in Wetherby prior to the next meeting were gratefully received and new initiatives were discussed to move the WBA forward.
